About Us

The Australia Autism & Neurodiversity Alliance (AANA) is a Melbourne-based non-profit organisation.

We regard neurodiversity as a fundamental part of humanity’s original cognitive spectrum —
A balance between emotion and reason, connection and clarity,
which has long shaped the evolution of human thought and civilisation.

We also work at the intersection of neurodiversity, public systems, and long-term social continuity,
Focusing on individuals whose lifelong safety and existence do not depend on short-term services,
But on the continuity of caregiving relationships, sustained public attention,
And the enduring responsibility of civilisation itself —
Particularly autistic individuals and families with very high support needs.

We are further positioned along the deep fault lines of institutional structures,
With a particular focus on CALD communities facing language and cultural barriers in multicultural contexts,
To advance systemic equity and accessibility.

We believe neurodiversity is one of humanity’s deepest sources of creativity.
In an era increasingly consumed by noise, acceleration, and subjective absolutism,
The clarity, focus, and depth of thought inherent in neurodiverse minds
Are precisely the forces needed to restore civilisational balance.

The progress of civilisation is not measured solely by the light it creates,
But by whether it is willing to leave enduring light
For those who may never be able to step into it.
