The Global High-Functioning Alliance
International Flagship Initiative
The Global High-Functioning Alliance (TGHFA) is an independent international initiative dedicated to advancing the understanding, participation, and systemic innovation related to high-functioning autism and neurodiversity worldwide.
TGHFA is built upon the principles of cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary, and cross-system collaboration, aiming to connect countries, research institutions, policymakers, and community organisations to explore the structural role of neurodiversity in modern society.
Our Vision
TGHFA is founded on the belief that:
-
Neurodiversity is not a peripheral phenomenon, but an essential part of the architecture of human civilisation;
-
High-functioning individuals possess unique cognitive styles, knowledge structures, and creative capacities;
-
With proper understanding and systemic support, these strengths can contribute profoundly to science, technology, philosophy, the arts, and social innovation.
Our long-term vision is to establish a global framework that redefines the societal position of high-functioning individuals across education, research, employment, human rights, and cross-cultural governance.
Our Mission
TGHFA’s mission includes the following key pillars:
1. Global Research Collaboration
To facilitate cooperation among neurodiversity researchers, universities, think tanks, and international organisations, promoting cross-cultural comparative studies and theoretical advancement.
2. International Dialogue
To foster communication through forums, white papers, declarations, and policy exchanges, enabling service systems and intellectual communities across countries to share insights on consciousness, civilisation, and the future of neurodiversity.
3. Cross-Border Policy Exchange
To support countries in exploring innovative institutional models for high-functioning individuals—including education pathways, employment structures, community participation, and social inclusion.
4. Systemic and Philosophical Innovation
To introduce the “civilisational narrative of the high-functioning spectrum” into global policy discussions and philosophical discourse, including:
-
The relationship between human civilisation and neurodiversity
-
Societal rhythms and cognitive structures
-
New frameworks for social inclusion and systemic design
Relationship Between TGHFA and AANA
TGHFA works in parallel with the Australia Autism & Neurodiversity Alliance (AANA):
TGHFA
-
Focuses on international-level research, thought leadership, policy dialogue, and cross-border collaboration
-
Serves as a global, strategic-framework platform
AANA
-
Focuses on community engagement, policy advocacy, service system development, employment innovation, and government collaborations within Australia
-
Functions as an implementation-focused, practice-based platform
Together, TGHFA and AANA form an integrated structure of “global thinking + local implementation”, enabling concepts to be piloted in Australia and subsequently expanded internationally.
